Energy Cleansing: Cord Cutting.

In the world of energy healing and spiritual growth, the concept of cord-cutting stands out as a powerful and transformative practice.

Energy or Spiritual cord-cutting, refers to the process of identifying and letting go of negative or draining energetic connections that have been created. These connections, or 'cords', are energetic links that tie you to other people, past experiences, or certain emotions. The practice of cord-cutting is about severing these ties, which may subtly influence your wellbeing in many ways. This process doesn't imply ending relationships or erasing memories. Instead, it focuses on releasing the negative energy associated with these cords, allowing for growth and emotional healing.

Engaging in a cord-cutting ritual can be a deeply personal and transformative experience, so let’s explore my six-step guide to releasing those blocked, unwanted, negative energy connections.

Step one: Find a Quiet Space: Find a space where you feel safe and undisturbed. This could be anywhere you find tranquillity – a corner of your room, a peaceful outdoor spot, or even a quiet space in your mind. The key is to be in an environment where you can focus without interruptions.

Step Two: Set Your Intention: Intentions are powerful. Begin by clearly stating, either aloud or in your mind, your intention to release any negative energy cords attached to you. This might be as simple as saying, "I intend to release all connections that no longer serve my highest good."

Step Three: Visualisation: Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths to centre yourself. Start to visualise the cords that are draining your energy. These might appear in your mind’s eye as cords, chains, feelings or colours. They could be connected to people, past events, or emotions that no longer serve you. Acknowledge their presence and their role in your life.

Step Four: Cutting the Cords: Now, visualise yourself severing these cords. Some find it helpful to envision a pair of scissors, a sword, or even just a hand cutting or pulling the cords away. This act is symbolic of taking control and releasing the hold these energies have over you. Remember, you’re cutting the cords but not the relationship or memory – it's the unhealthy attachment you're severing.

Step Five: Healing: After cutting each cord, it's important to bring healing into the process. Visualise the ends of the cut cords returning to you and the other party involved. Picture these ends being sealed with a soothing light, symbolising healing and closure. This step is important as it prevents the formation of new negative cords and helps heal any emotional wounds.

Step Six: Gratitude and Closure: Finally, express gratitude. This could be for the lessons learned from the connections, the strength you’ve found in releasing them, or the opportunity to grow. Conclude your ritual with a few deep breaths and grounding yourself in the present moment. 

Practising any form of energy-balancing or energy-clearing ritual can encourage self-reflection and personal growth, which is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about yourself, understand your boundaries, and develop a stronger self-awareness, It may also bring to the surface strong memories or emotions, so following your cord-cutting ritual, you might want to journal your experience or any thoughts and/or feelings you experienced, or simply sit in quiet reflection, remembering to seek professional support should it be needed.
